Russets have long been a favourite apple of ours, so it was exciting to finally work with the famous Egremont Russet.

Originating in Victorian era England (in 1872), Egremont Russet remains the most popular russet apple in the UK today.

What's it like? This, our first vintage of Egremont Russet, is delicate like a salad of fresh cashews and pears. It's low in acid with a touch of orchard funk. The rich, almost concentrated apple character reminds us of French Calvados.

More delicate than Golden Russet, and without the 'petrol' note of Reinette Russet, Egremont feels like a mix of both worlds: The goldilocks of the Russets we work with.
